With the launch of the latest generation A3 Audi made it clear that only the sedan version would be headed to North America. Now it turns out that might not be entirely true.
The Audi A3 Sportback is under consideration for the Canadian market, Audi Canada revealed on its Twitter page.

The five-door hatchback model is akin to what American consumers would consider a wagon, which is naturally one of the main reasons why it’s not heading to the U.S.
Popular in Europe, Audi is mulling over bringing the model to the Canadian market, which has been known to receive some vehicle models not offered in the U.S.
Still, it raises the possibility that the hatchback could also be offered in the U.S.

The tweet from Audi Canada revealed that if the car did receive the green light for sales, it wouldn’t be until 2015.
The 2015 Audi A3 is currently offered in North America as a sedan, priced at just $29,900.
